Viva Security – Security Recruitment Process

When you apply to Viva Security, the following procedure is undertaken:

  1. Application Form: All applicants must complete our detailed application form, which helps us gain a comprehensive understanding of their background.
  2. Initial Review: The application form is carefully checked for any discrepancies, such as unexplained gaps in employment history or an unusually high turnover of positions.
  3. Interview: If the application form is satisfactory, the applicant will be interviewed, and their background and experience will be discussed to assess their suitability for the role.
  4. Reference Check: Following a successful interview, an initial telephone check is conducted on a minimum of five years of employment references.
    • If we are unable to obtain a reference due to a former employer ceasing operations or because of periods of unemployment, we will request a breakdown of the applicant’s National Insurance contributions. This breakdown, provided by the National Insurance Contribution Agency, verifies employment or genuine unemployment periods.
    • If the information provided is insufficient, we will conduct further investigations.
  5. Additional Checks: Arrangements can be made to conduct credit checks and a Voters Roll search.
  6. Probationary Period: If the applicant is deemed suitable, they are offered a position on a sixteen-week probationary period. During this time, we must receive written references from all previous employers dating back five years or to school leaving age, whichever is appropriate. Additionally, we require two personal references.
